Portfolio Analyst — US Gas and Power Markets

The Portfolio Analyst role provides fundamental research and quantitative analysis to support a commodity trading desk specialising in energy commodities. The role combines physical market expertise, coding and commercial judgement to inform trading and portfolio decisions. Key responsibilities Analyse and forecast US natural gas supply, demand, storage, pipeline flows and LNG feedgas demand. Analyse regional power supply and demand, including electricity load, generation mix, renewable output, plant outages and transmission constraints. Assess regional gas pricing and basis relationships, power prices, generation economics and the interaction between gas and power markets. Evaluate weather, infrastructure developments, regulatory changes and supply disruptions and their implications for market balances and portfolio risks.
